Recycling. Yes, it’s important.  You know… reducing, reusing, and recycling.  We’re trying to save the planet by wasting less, producing less, and dumping less into our oceans and grounds. My guess is that you already know about glass, metals, and paper. Maybe you’re even familiar with composting!  It’s a great way to reduce waste that ends up in landfills. But did you know about textiles, batteries, and other things that can’t be recycled into the glass or paper bins, but still don’t need to go into a landfill? Introducing Meditation: Why You Can and Should Actually Do This

Disclaimer: Meditation probably means something different to many different people.  What you are reading is my interpretation and personal experience with meditation.  If this doesn’t work for you, no worries!  Move on to someone else’s recommendations or simply decide that this is not for you and figure out what is for you.  Nothing works for everyone 🙂 What is meditation? Again, this is different for everyone.  The type of meditation I’m going to talk about–and that I personally employ–is probably best described as mindfulness meditation.  This simplest way to describe this is that mindfulness meditation is the practice of focusing your attention on something–such as your breath, the sensation of something outside…

How many hidden products in your house are tested on animals? Most people know that in many countries things like lipstick, face creams and other cosmetics have been tested on animals for a long time.  Most of us also know that many medications and research findings are produced through animal testing. Note, I found most of these items on other websites and blogs in order to compile my own list.  Sources have been listed below. 1. Tampons. Yes, that’s right.  Tampons are not cruelty-free. How to Actually Use the Internet to ‘Keep It Simple’

Okay.  So, we all know the Internet.  Technically claiming its origins in the 70’s, the World Wide Web was created in 1989.  A mere 28 years later, we have what feels like boundless knowledge, repeated garbage, niche blogs, and approximately 100 billion people giving their opinion of this thing and the next. How in the world am I suggesting that using the internet will help make your life simpler? Well, I’m not talking about keeping yourself safe from those late-night YouTube holes where you accidentally find yourself watching bell choirs until 2am for no particular reason other than you’re oddly riveted by the fact that you can watch 100 bell choir…

Have a can of chickpeas stuffed in the back of your pantry, but no black beans?  Use that!  No avocado, spring for some store-bought hummus and chuck veggies on top.  This is incredibly versatile when you begin adding and mixing veggies, using exciting new salsas and leftovers you find in your fridge! Recipe Tortilla Avocado, ripe Beans of your…
